Fall Schmall... Its still Summer here!!

It may be officially Fall now but heck its still pretty warm out here and we are loving it! Today it was about 85 degrees and after nap the boys and I decided it was time for some splashin' fun! Thanks to Aunt Jody for the fun Slip N Slide she gave Cameron for his birthday :) They had a blast and Cameron has already asked me when we get to do it again. (Yes Connor is in a diaper... I cant find his swim suit from the move :/)

Dinosaurs!

Today instead of a preschool lesson we took a family trip to Thanksgiving Point to their Museum of Ancient Life. Cameron was so excited to go to "the dinosaur museum" as he calls it. First we walked through all of the museum and saw the dinosaur bones and fossils and all kinds of fun little exhibits they have. Then we spent some time at a little exhibit they have where the kids get to play in water and sand with trees and dinosaurs. They loved that! Then lastly, Camerons favorite as he told me, we got to excavate some bones! He was in heaven, we had to practically drag him out when we were ready to leave, he could have stayed all day. Connor liked it too of course. We will definatly be going back again!

Dem' Bones! Preschool Lesson

Because we were moving right as preschool was starting here I decided to keep Cameron home his first year of preschool and do it with him! I also figured it would help prepare him better for starting next year. So we started doing lessons last week and will do them 3 days a week (Mon, Wed and Fri). We start by practicing tracing and drawing shapes. Then we work on 3 letters a week. We talk about words that start with that letter and then he practices tracing/writing them. After that we get to do our "fun lesson." Last week we learned about seasons and painted a picture of the 4 seasons. Then we also learned about Dinosaurs. We made Dinosaur puppets on popsicle sticks and then we were archeologists and dug and dusted a little dino out of a chalk egg! He loved that!! He says to me every now and again "Mama, I want to learn today!" So cute!

This morning was time to learn about bones! First I made him a bone book that is shaped like a body. The first page is just a little boy... the next page is his bones, then the next has his organs. We talked about all the different bones in his body and about his heart, lungs, brain and stomach/intestines and what they all do. Then we watched Dem' Bones on my computer, he thought it was funny to see the skeletons dancing.

After that we made a life size Cameron and drew all his bones! (Pardon the artwork... Im not very good lol). First he laid down and we traced him. This was actually quite hard, he wouldnt hold still! Then I asked him where things went and he helped point to where his eyes, nose, ribs, hips, etc went. I drew them and he loved it!

My Grandma Compton

Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of my Grandma Comptons death. My Aunt Jenny and I went to her grave and brought some roses for it. Im glad Im close enough I could go visit her grave site. Although visiting graves doesnt really bring me comfort... even though her body is laid there, she isnt there anymore. I think about her quite often and miss her. I wish she could have met my other children (this baby and any future children). But Im so thankful we were able to go visit her in July last year before she passed away so she could meet my boys I have now and see her one last time. I will always miss her and I look forward to seeing her again!

Off to the races!

Today we took the boys to Rocky Mountain Raceways to watch the races and a special treat... JET CARS! They loved it to say the least! It was a bit loud but they handled it really well. Cameron loved wearing the earmuffs and Connor thought they were pretty neat too. Its so fun to watch your kids enjoy something so much :) I think we will have to do this again next year and make it a tradition!

Connor clapping for the cars :)
Camerons super excited face! Love this face lol
 Cameron loving it!
Connor fell in love with BBQ sauce... he was sucking it off his fries first... then I gave him some churro and he insisted on dipping it too, ew! But he thought it was good lol.

These are the jet cars. They literally have jet engines like an airplane. One of them went 280 mph! They blow flames and smoke and they are super loud!

Boys, Trucks & Dirt

These trucks pictured above bring my boys endless hours of entertainment. Them in combination with the small patch of dirt in our front yard they could stay out there all day if I let them. They love to load up dirt in the dumptruck using the front loader, drive it somewhere else and dump it out. Then Cameron likes to move rocks in the "rock quarry" as he calls it. They were playing out there yesterday while Bret worked on the garage a bit so I couldnt resist snapping a few pictures. These two boys of mine have the most beautiful blue eyes! I love the way they come out in photos!

A New Start...

Well it seems it has been so long since I blogged that I have forgotten my blogger login information... and I must have deleted it from my email because I cant find it anywhere. So here we are! Living in a new state, new house, new baby on the way... why not a new blog?! I will try to be better at keeping up (at least a post a month... lol).
